Award season might be over, but not without Chicago getting in on the action
Statues and accolades of the 2020 award season have been handed out to music, film and television's biggest stars. But before making headlines in Hollywood, one award show in particular made the rounds in Chicago, where music's Midwest community celebrated its rising stars and famously established figures.
Gibson's Italia hosted an idyllic reception for members of the Midwest Chapter of The Recording Academy® on January 17th. Just weeks before the 62nd annual ceremony streamed live from Los Angeles's Staple Center, nominated musicians like Chance the Rapper, Andrew Bird, Nathalie Joachim and Elaine Martone gathered to celebrate the chart-topping achievements of the chapter.
While dining, members and guests vibed to sounds from Nathalie Joachim and Spektral Quartet, who were both nominated for "Best World Music" GRAMMYS®.
